Vinoway Selection 2024 – Awards Banquet at Castello Monaci in San Pancrazio, Puglia, Italy

The Event:
I was very fortunate to attend the Vinoway 2024 Selection Banquet, thanks to Teo D’Apolito and Salvatore Giardiniere (from Enartis). The event was held in Castello Monaci, a beautiful castle built in the 1500s, near the town of San Pancrazio in southern Puglia.
Teo received the Premio Enartis award at the event, given to the top enologist in Italy. In addition, Michele Palama received the award for the best Rosato. Please see my previous post and video of Palama where Michele talks about his winery and his winemaking philosophy. Teo was the consultant enologist responsible for making the Palama Metiusco Rosato IGP Salento 2022, which was judged the best Rosato.

The day will reach its climax with the Dinner with the Stars, dedicated exclusively to companies, in which the Best Wines of Italy selected by the Vinoway Italia Tasting Commission led by Davide Gangi, CEO and Founder of Vinoway Italia SRL will be awarded. The producers present will be issued a Certificate with the name of the company’s Best Wine and the relative score.
The Vinoway Italia Awards Commission, this year formed by Alberto Cauzzi (Deputy Director of the Guide of Ristoranti de l’Espresso), Alessandro Rossi (Wine Manager), Andrea Grignaffini (Director of the Guide of the Restaurants of the Espresso), Antonio Scatigna (Vice President of the Vinoway Selection Commission), Eros Teboni (Best Sommelier of the World WSA 2018), Fiorenzo Valbonesi (Architect), Leila Salimbeni (Editorial Director Spirito diVino) and directed by Davide Gangi has identified the characters, which we will reveal shortly, who have distinguished themselves during the year and who will therefore receive the Awards
